The Eurocamp Summer Stars Hockey program has reached an agreement that will allow the regional AAA summer hockey program based out of North Bay to send its players to the Ottawa Riot for tournament play.

The Summer Stars ran three traveling summer tournament teams last year - Team 2000, Team 1998 and Team 1994.

Eurocamp Summer Stars Director Randy Edmonds says the Ottawa Riot is the most successful AAA summer program in that region.

"They draw players from as far away as Montreal and every age group and compete in North America's top tournaments," said Edmonds.

"These tourneys we could never comepte in. Our goal is to send 2 players per team to tryout for their teams and play for them.

The Ottawa Riot start their spring training camp at the Petawawa Military Complex.

Edmonds hopes to have many of the top players in Northern Ontario with the Eurocamp Summer Stars this spring - some players he hopes will make an impact with the Riot.

"We currently have three players on their tryout list for next spring and I will recommend players every spring to go to the Ottawa tryout camp."
