Three teams from the Eurocamp Summer Stars summer hockey program are heading to the King of the Ring Summer Hockey Tournament at York University.

Team 2000, comprised of 7-year-old's is playing its first tournament of this magnitude. These Eurocamp Summer Stars are comprised of primarily local players, two players from Ottawa and three players from the Markham AAA minor novice program including the son of Maple Leaf broadcaster Joe Bowen.

"This will be a introduction to summer hockey and will hopefully give these kids and parents a taste of what is in store next spring when they compete on a larger scale," said Eurocamp Summer Stars coach Randy Edmonds.

The two other Eurocamp Summer Stars teams are Team 1994 made up of a small group of local players along with players from the Brantford and London area, and Team 1998, made up of kids from around the North.

The 2008 Eurocamp Summer Stars program will have its local tryouts on March 30th on an invite only basis.
