Eskimos put the freeze on the Royals

The Abitibi Eskimos fresh off their saturday night victory 4-3 victory over the SSM Thunderbirds left Temiscaming with another victory. This time 5-2 over the home town Royals. Abitibi opened the scoring at the 13:23 mark of the first on a Jason Robin goal. Only 17 seconds later, newcomer Tristan Awashish otched his first goal as a Royal to tie the game at 1. But with less than 2 minutes to go in the period, Maxime St-Pierre put the visitors ahead 2-1 after 20 minutes.

In the second, two power play goals from Alex Fiset and St-Pierre's second of the game made it 4-1. The third period started with the Royals scoring at 2:24 on Axel Bousquet first goal of the season. This put a little life in the home town crowd of 403 but only 43 seconds later Josh Clancy restored the three goal lead that the Eskimos would not relinquish.

Joel Vienneau earned the victory stopping 34 shots while Jim Murray faced 47 and took the loss.
