Dragons strike against Moose

TORONTO, ON. - The Powassan Dragons broke out of their 9 game losing streak with an impressive 8-4 victory over the Toronto Moose on Saturday night. Brandon Amireault led the Dragon attack with 4 goals, while Justin Huycke had 3 goals in the win.
TORONTO, ON. - The Powassan Dragons broke out of their 9 game losing streak with an impressive 8-4 victory over the Toronto Moose on Saturday night.

Brandon Amireault led the Dragon attack with 4 goals, while Justin Huycke had 3 goals in the win. Stephane Devost chipped in with 3 assists.

Jon Minard, Gord Whyte, Nicholas Del Plavignano and Michael Ivo replied for the Moose.

Newcomers

The Dragons had 3 new players in their lineup which were acquired from the Inisfill Lakers for future considerations.

The trade helps bolster the defence with the addition of Houston, Texas product Jeff Heinzer and Soco, Maine native Michael Scally.

Also part of the deal was 20-year-old forward Clay Wente from Reston, Virginia.

Cancellation

Dragons officials say due to transportation issues with the visiting team, the Dragons have cancelled the Sunday's game between the Elliot Lake Bobcats and the Powassan Dragons which was scheduled for 3:30 Sunday afternoon in Powassan.
