Dragons finish 2010 with a pair of weekend wins

The Powassan Dragons had a good ending to their 2010 season with to wins going into 2011. The Dragons were on the road in Oro Medonte to take on the 77's and won that road game on a goal from DJ Champagne with 10 seconds left on the clock to win it 5-4. Other goal scorers were Majeic Rompowski with a pair and Pawel Wadra and Colton Dow chipping in singles. Wil Rohleder was in net for the win.

The Dragons played host to the Sturgeon Falls Lumberjacks and beat them convincingly 8-4 in front of a good crowd at the Sportsplex on Sunday.Goalscorers for the Dragons were Majeic Rompowski, Adam McParland and newly signed ex midget Trapper Anthony Trozzo with a pair and singles going to Nick Robidas and Pawel Wadra. Krystof Bojanowski was in net for the win. Goal scorers for the Lumberjacks were Chris Osellame, Dylan Ryan, Marcus Brien and Cam Moffat. Goaltender Paul Breton made many great saves in this loss.

The Dragons are off for the Christmas break now and will have some familiar faces back in the lineup starting the new year with third leading scorer Filip Komorski along with offensive defensemen Bartlomiej Bychawski and highly touted goaltender Bartlomiej Niesluchowski all winning the IIHF U20 DIV II GOLD MEDAL for their country Poland.
