SUDBURY, ON – The Sudbury Jr. Wolves aren’t much of a regular season team, but come playoffs watch out. The North Bay Jr. A Trappers are finding that out the hard way.

After allowing the Wolves to score 4 unanswered third period goals in a game 3 loss at Memorial Gardens, the Wolves pounced all over the Trappers in a 8-0 blowout at the Sudbury arena on Saturday night.

“They came out flying and we didn’t,” said a baffled Trappers head coach Ian Swalucynski.

“They got up and we couldn’t recover.”

After his third period hat trick in game 3, Evan Daciuk followed up with a pair in the first period as the Wolves took a 3-0 lead after 20 minutes. Tyler Arps had the other Wolves goal in the opening frame.

Zach McGillis and Kyle Lekun added two more in the second period to chase starter Ryan Fitzsimmons who got the hook after allowing 5 goals on 18 shots.

Markus Leikkari came in and allowed 2 goals on the first shots he faced on goals by Chris Kangas and Daniel Aubut.

Adam Dibrina scored a power play marker to round out the scoring for the Wolves who take a 3-1 series lead with game 5 Sunday night at Memorial Gardens.

While the Trappers, who played without forwards Justin Dicks, Dan Zawacki and Jonathon Aubertin, will have to find a way to win Sunday night or their season is over.

“We have to rebound, we have to play harder and do everything we can to win and that’s it.”

Game 5 is Sunday night at 7 pm at Memorial Gardens.
