Curling fans can take in 2007 TSC Stores Tankard

‘The Tankard’ is coming to town, and curling fans can watch it on their local cable station. The TVCOGECO team is partnering with the Ontario Curling Association and the Sarnia Golf and Curling Club Host Committee in providing live coverage of the 2007 TSC Stores Tankard. Thanks to the Cogeco Ontario cable network, local cable viewers can watch the action on the ice.

As the official television provider of the event, TVCOGECO is covering the championships from the Opening Ceremonies on Monday, February 12th to the final draws and closing ceremonies on Sunday, February 18th. In addition, cable viewers can enjoy player and team profiles, go behind-the-scenes for a look at the immensity of the supporting operations and meet some of the many dedicated volunteers who help to make this event possible.

According to Tim Caddigan, TVCOGECO Regional Manager and Senior Producer, the televised coverage will be well-watched. “We have seen how curling coverage has continued to grow in popularity in each of our communities. Our local viewers’ response has been very positive in anticipation of seeing our Ontario teams compete at such a high level.” Caddigan notes that planning for an event of this magnitude has been in process for a long time. “We’ve enjoyed our partnership with the Sarnia Host Committee who have been diligently preparing for the championships for well over a year after securing their bid for the championships. It’s time now to see the hours of preparation come to fruition.”

North Bay viewers can catch the coverage on TVCOGECO, channel 12. The full local TVCOGECO schedule will be available on the channel. Please note that live local program commitments occurring during draw times will not be pre-empted, however, the Tankard coverage will take place on tape delay at a later time.
