CT33 Thunderbirds swimmers impress at NEOR swim meet

The CT33 Thunderbirds swim team competed in their first meet of the season, Northeastern Ontario Region (NEOR) Developmental Meet #1 held on Nov 2-3 at Laurentian University in Sudbury. The meet brings together swimmers of all ages from across Northeastern Ontario.

Twenty-three swimmers from the Thunderbirds team attended, including 8 athletes new to competitive swimming. Kaleb Staley, Sarah Blair, Sydney Freeman, Allison Patenaude, Mason Patenaude, Molly-Jean Prichard, Braxton Scully and James Blair performed well in their first meet, with a 2nd place achieved in 50m backstroke by Blair.

Athletes earning a Top-4 finish at NEOR#1 were: Abigail Betsill, James Blair, Albert Bouley, Timothy Corbeil, Fia Diorio, Sophie Durocher, Sheldon Kilroy, Emilia Lainevool, Brody Marietti, Peyton Paralovos, Ryleigh Paralovos, Mason Patenaude, Madilyn Reaume, Kaleb Staley and Sarah Taylor.

Next up for the Thunderbirds swim team is the Nickel City Top Fish meet for 12 and under athletes, and NEOR#2 hosted by the YMCA Titans in December.
