CT33 Thunderbirds Stevens and Paralovos impress at Sault Ste. Marie Meet

SAULT STE. MARIE – The CT33 Thunderbirds competed at the Dave Kensit Memorial Championship at the John Rhodes Community Centre in Sault Ste. Marie this past weekend.

SAULT STE. MARIE – The CT33 Thunderbirds competed at the Dave Kensit Memorial Championship at the John Rhodes Community Centre in Sault Ste. Marie this past weekend. 

This short course regional championship draws the top Northeastern Ontario competitive swimmers that meet the qualifying standard to the event.

Trael Daly Stevens (13 years old) scored highest points for the boys, with a 2nd place finish in the 50 metre Fly and three 3rd place finishes in other events, securing provincial standard times.    

Peyton Paralovos (10 years old) captured highest scores for the girls placing third in the 50 Breast and 50 Free events. 

Other outstanding top eight finishes went to Michael Denomme, Sam Denomme, Jesse Hammond, Rachelle Ouellette, Cole Paralovos, Riley Periard, Jillian Picco and Drew Sinclair.

Personal best times were recorded for all CT33 swimmers at the event including Leah Chirico, Clarice DeBernardi, Elle Louise George, Lindsay Greig, William Hotson, Jaiden Paralovos and Olivia Trottier.

The boys 13-14 200 Free team; consisting of Trael Daly Stevens, Drew Sinclair, Sam Denomme and Cole Paralovos  put down a third place finish at the relay event. 

The girls 11-12 200 Medley team, consisting of Rachelle Ouellette, Olivia Trottier, Riley Periard and Jaiden Paralovos landed a third place finish in the relay event.

North Bay coaches Pierre Simard, Penny Lecour, Ray Picco, Hillar Lainevool, Jennifer Piper and Rhianna Bovair said they were pleased with the results from the meet and the success and growth of all swimmers.
