Collins leads Skyhawks to win (new)

SUDBURY — Matt Collins scored three goals and added one assist to lead the North Bay Skyhawks to an 11-4 win over the Northern Wolves here Wednesday night in Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League action.

The Skyhawks are now 4-0-1 on the season and one point behind the Eastern Division leaders Abitibi Eskimos, who have played three more games.

Collins has five goals and six assists in five games and was named the first star of the game for the second straight time.

North Bay had six goals on the powerplay and one while playing a man short as they outshot the Wolves 67-19.

Stuart Fricke upped his goaltending record to 3-0-1 and his goals per game average is a gaudy 1.96. His save percentage is .929.

Danny Loach and Yves Bastien added two goals each for the Skyhawks.

Tyler Perry, Joey Imbeau, Stoan Pacey and Evan Dube added single goals for North Bay.

Matt Bortolotto, Mark Paris, Matt Chuipka and Neil MacDonald replied for Sudbury.

North Bay hosts Manitoulin Wild Friday night at Memorial Gardens. Game time is 7:30 p.m.
