Scott Kile, on behalf of the Timbit Hockey for Beginners Program, has driven Coach4Food through the 19-ton mark with a $1,000 donation and 241 pounds of food. As well, donations of either cash or food from the Canadian Pond Hockey Face-Off, Skater's Edge Source for Sports, and individuals, have added another 858 pounds to Tom Hedican's fundraiser for the North Bay Food Bank.

That pushes the Coach4Food drive to 38,927 pounds for 2008. Hedican has now concluded the practices for Coach4Food, however this year's fundraiser was dedicated to his late mother Shirley, and donations in her honor will be added to the 38,000 pounds with the final total being announced Tuesday, December 23rd.

Coach4Food was inspired by rock star Bruce Springsteen's work with food banks in Canada and the U.S.
