With just five days left, Tom Hedican's 2007 Coach4Food Program is now climbing toward the seven-ton mark. The Boart Longyear Vikings Bantam A hockey team added to the unique ways of contributing to the fundraiser, collecting and returning bottles for cash to add to the 1,275 pounds of food they brought to their practice.

The Vikings, sponsored by Benjamin James Marketing Communications, have pushed this year's total to 13,468 pounds, far surpassing last year's record for the North Bay Food Bank.

Last year the fundraiser brought in 5,029 pounds (2.5 tons) for the North Bay food bank and this year will run until Dec. 23 with the grand total being announced Christmas Eve.
