Century 21 United wins title

North Bay Century 21 United U14 Boys Selects Soccer Club participated in the Annual Muskoka Soccer Tournament on Saturday and Sunday. The team opened the tournament with a 2-1 victory over Simcoe County.


North Bay Century 21 United U14 Boys Selects Soccer Club participated in the Annual Muskoka Soccer Tournament on Saturday and Sunday. The team opened the tournament with a 2-1 victory over Simcoe County. Mike Mason and Nick Tumino were the goal scorers. The second match saw United defeat Kitchener 2-0 and Anthony Celebre lead the attack with the two markers.

The host team, Bracebridge fell to North Bay with a 3-0 decision. Goal scorers were Mason with 2 and Connor George
with one. In the final game of the draw, Century 21 United dominated Huntsville with a 4-0 final score. Darius
Tignanelli, Jordi Ortepi, Michael Carr and Mason contributed in the scoring. The four wins placed the U14 Boys in the top spot and advanced to the championship game against second place Simcoe. Playing their best game of the tournament,

North Bay controlled the play and shut down the Simcoe offense. A brilliant strike by Mike Mason opened the scoring for United to go ahead 1-0. An incredible save by goalie Mitchell Forte changed the complexion of the game in the second half as United built on their confidence.

Noah O'Rourke ensured the victory for North Bay with a 2-0
championship win.

The U14 Selects team plays in the U17 North Bay Youth Soccer League, as well as the newly formed North Bay Selects Competitive League.

The remaining team members include, Ryley Valade, Mitchell Beaulieu, Andrew Bedard, Kyle DeCosta, Robin Pelletier,
Nicolas Piquette and Keenan Wright. Mike Tignanelli and Giuliano Celebre are the coaches and Cindy Carr is team
manager.
