Canadore Panthers win Conestoga tourney

The Canadore College Hockey team has capped off their season with another tournament win. The Panther’s competed in the eight team Conestoga College tournament on Feb 10th.

In the Panther’s first game of the tournament (versus the host Conestoga College), Evan Barley scored twice while Glenn McNabb, Nathan McMahon and Ryan Drouin put in one apiece to give the Panthers the 5-1 win. The lone Conestoga goal would be the only goal that would be scored against the Panther’s the entire tournament. The Panthers blanked Mohawk College 5-0 with Andrew Rideout recording the shutout. Glen McNabb and Adam Davis scored twice and Tyler Perry put in one for Canadore.

The Panthers met the Niagara College Knights in the gold medal game and won 4-0. Dan Reed was in net for the Panthers while Barley (2), Perry, and Davis provided the offence.

With the Conestoga tournament win, the Panthers finish their season with an impressive 19-4 record.

Drouin, Davis, Barley, Kevin May, Adam Whittal, Bruce Winn, and Kyle Handley will all be graduating from Canadore and leaving the Panther Hockey program at the end of the semester.
