Women’s 3rd Provincial Qualifier - Muskoka

The third of three Provincial Qualifiers was held in Bracebridge hosted by the Muskoka Limberettes this past weekend. All four athletes finished with excellent results in their final attempt at earning a spot to the Ontario Cup semi-finals to be held later this season.

“There are still a few qualifiers remaining in the province so the finalists will not be announced until all the results are in. Stephanie Carr has unofficially qualified at this time and the other three girls have a solid chance a qualifying,” said coach Nicki Chretien.

Senior team member Stephanie Carr who is still nursing a nagging shoulder injury, competed extremely well despite pulling some of her elements from her routines. Stephanie performed a flawless Beam routine to earn her the Silver medal in the Level 8, 14-year-old and up. She still managed to finish in 6th place overall even with a fall on Uneven Bars. Lindsay Jones placed 4th on Balance Beam and 7th place overall in the Level 6, 14-year-old and up category. Kiley Willis placed 4th on Vault and 6th place overall in the Level 5, 14 years and up category. Vanessa Gagnon was 4th on Floor and 6th place overall in the Level 5, 12 & 13-year-old category.

Trampoline 2nd Provincial Qualifier - Scarborough

The Gymtrix Trampoline team competed in the 2nd of three Qualifiers in Scarborough this past weekend. The club’s top finisher was Keiran Crouch who performed two great routines to land him in the Bronze spot overall in the Provincial A category. Taylor Jones placed 13th in Provincial B Senior Women category. Trampoline athletes are required to achieve a qualifying score twice during the season in order to advance to Provincial Championships. Both Crouch and Jones achieved the required score and will compete at the 3rd Qualifier in an attempt to hit the score once again. Tabitha Gennoe placed 8th in a very tough field of Senior A Women. Tanner Rhoads placed 15th after experiencing a fall during his final exercise.
