On Saturday the North Bay and District Pee Wee AAA Trappers were in Sudbury for a regular season match-up against the Nickel City Sons where they reeled in a big 2-1 overtime win.

The Trappers jumped out to an early lead on a goal by Lucas Brown, assisted by Cody Sutcliffe and Tyler Peters. The lead held for the better part of two periods before Nickel City tied it up when the Trappers found themselves in penalty trouble down by two players.

The third period went back and forth with neither team able to capitalize on their chances. Trapper goalie Adam D’Agostino played stellar in net, frustrating the Sons time after time. The game was decided in overtime as the Trappers forced the play into Nickel City’s end and out worked the Sons. Cohen Allison got the puck deep and Steven Leveque came up with it behind the net, then making a great pass out to Brown who buried his shot up high over the Sons goaltender to give the Trappers a 2-1 win.
The Pee Wee Trappers are on the ice again this weekend, hosting the Nickel City Sons for two games.
