This is the story of our success.

This all began as the season started in September. Bowlers week after week are building an average. The goal of all bowlers is to beat their average also known as (POA) Bowlers on December 9 & 10 participated in a Zone Round, this year held in Parry Sound. The top 2 men and women form Team A and the next 2 men and women Team B.

This year's Team 1, Roger Lebeau, Chris Hurtubuise, Manon Gorbeil, Cindy Eagle

Team 2, Connor Clark, Daley Boutilier, Emile Roussal, Chantal Laframboise

The next stage was the Provincial Round, for teams representing Northern Ontario. Two teams from each zone included Gateway, Sunset Country, Thunder Bay, Goldbelt, Cambrian North, Nickel District. The tournament was run from February 23-24 in Sudbury. Each team bowled a total of 10 games, where the goal was to beat your average and beat your opponent whom you were competing against. Each win resulted in a point for your team and if the total of the 4 bowlers were higher than your opponents, you got an additional 3 points, max 7 points.

Our first Day after 7 games resulted, Thunder Bay 1 leading with 33 points, Gold Belt 1 with 31 points, Gateway 1 with 31 points, and Gateway 2 with 30.5 points.

As day two started at 9am, nerves were showing, but by noon tears were flowing as both local teams from North Bay qualified for the National Championships being held in St. John's, Newfoundland from April 24-27.

Gateway 2 had an unbelievable day, leapfrogging all teams into first with 49.5 points, Gateway 1 with 43.5 points nearly beating out Goldbelt 1 by .5 finishing with 43 points. This is the first time in History that both teams from the same zone qualified for the Nationals.

On a personal note, this is my 2nd consecutive trip to Nationals, where our team finished 3rd in Canada last April in Thunder Bay.

We can always use a fan club and prayers for success. I am sure our event will be livestreamed in April.
