Blanchard wins OHF award

TORONTO - At the Ontario Hockey Federation (OHF) Annual General Meeting Awards Gala held Saturday, Guy Blanchard, the Vice President and General Manager of the NOJHL North Bay Skyhawks, received the Ontario Hockey Federation Junior Hockey Award.


TORONTO - At the Ontario Hockey Federation (OHF) Annual General Meeting Awards Gala held Saturday, Guy Blanchard, the Vice President and General Manager of the NOJHL North Bay Skyhawks, received the Ontario Hockey Federation Junior Hockey Award.

The OHF Junior Hockey Award recognizes Guy Blanchard for service to amateur Hockey at the Junior level amongst the seven member partners from the OHL, NOHA, OHA, OWHA, OMHA, GTHL, and ALLIANCE.

Guy was recognized for faithfully serving hockey for many years as player, coach, and administrator having made a significant contribution to the Ontario Hockey Federation.

President Al Campbell expressed his support of the recognition.

“On behalf of the North Bay Skyhawks organization and our North Bay fans, we are proud of today’s announcement recognizing Guy’s commitment to hockey honouring the quality of this individual and his passion for the game. We wish to thank the OHF for establishing such an awards program as celebrated by his peers from all across Ontario. Guy has been a pillar in the Northern Ontario hockey community for many years and to be singled out is not in his nature. This award exemplifies his strength in establishing successful hockey programs and developing excellence in hockey players and coaches for their own personal growth. The recognition is about Guy Blanchard’s contribution for an entire body of work in the field of hockey not just about one season.”

Blanchard is the sixth person to be recognized in this category since the inception of the OHF Awards program that commenced in 2001-2002 season.
