Blades take 1 of 3 from Timmins Eagles

The North Bay Major Bantam 'AAA' Blades won only 1 of their three home games this weekened as the Timmins Liberty Mines Eagles payed a visit to North Bay on the weekend.

On Saturday afternoon the Eagles pulled out a high scoring affair 7-5 over the Blades. Brodie Whitehead and Mike Mason both had a pair for the Blades. Zach Deschenes had the other Blades goal.

On Saturday night the Blades found the win column as they edged the Eagles 5-3 thanks in part by a two-goal effort by Tait Seguin. Call-up Ryan Wilkson and Mike Mason had the other Blades goals.

The Blades couldn't pull out the victory in the rubber match as they dropped a 5-4 decision. Mike Mason scored another two goals for the Blades while Kyle Baril and Devin Marshall added singles.

Blades head coach Rob Ladouceur felt his team could have easily won the weekend series.

"In all three games we carried the lead but we just couldn't put them away," said Ladouceur.

The Blades head north to clash with the Timmins Eagles for three games starting on October 11th.
