North Bay - The Hilltop Variety Blades - Maj Bantam "AAA" team held an honours and awards banquet to mark the end of their inaugural season on Friday 7, April 2006. Darren Turcotte was the guest of honour and he stressed the importance of the "The Three D's; Dedication, Determination and Desire," as being extremely important to any player.

He also discussed different hockey options and encouraged all players to pick their path and stick to it. Jamie Sneddon was recognized as the most improved player.

Eric Bouchard won the best defencemen award, while Shea Cooper was recognized as the most valuable player. Also honoured were Chris Hebert with the best forward award and Nicklas Huard who received the Coach's Award.
