The North Bay Trappers round out their regular season schedule on the weekend as they host a pair of games at West Ferris arena.

On Saturday night the Trappers take on the Rayside-Balfour Sabrecats (7:20 p.m.) and on Sunday night they host the Kirkland Lake 87's (5:20 p.m.).

Saturday's contest against the Sabrecats could be a preview of the opening round of the Great North Midget League playoffs. Currently the Trappers sit in 4th spot in the nine-team league but they are only two points back of the third place Valley East Cobras with a game in hand.

Currently the Trappers have a record of 19-12-2-1.

Trappers 1 and 2?

Joel Senecal has a lock on winning the GNML regular season scoring race with 85 points but his linemate Tyler Hummel has a chance to finish second overall to his teammate. Currently Hummel has a league leading 36 goals along with 24 assists good for 60 points. Cobras forward Jamie Haines, expected to go high in this spring's OHL Draft, is only two points back of Hummel with 58 points.
