It was a great weekend for Apollo gymnasts in Pickering recently.
A total of 19 members of the competitive gymnastics team from North Bay Apollo Gymnastics Club competed March 8-10, 2024 at the Rainbow Classic in Pickering, Ontario.
The team earned a total of 27 medals, including 4 gold medals on individual apparatus. Level 6 gymnasts Sophie Carre and Olivia Ellery won gold medals on balance beam and uneven bars. Chloe Daigle won gold on level 4 floor exercise and Paige Sweezey on level 4 vault and balance beam.
All-around silver medals were awarded to Josee Chaput in level 6 and Chloe Daigle and Paige Sweezey in level 4. All-around bronze medals went to level 6 gymnasts Olivia Ellery and Sophie Carre.
