Paul Lalonde scored twice in the third period including the game winner with less than 4 minutes to play and then added an empty netter in the final seconds of the game as the St. Joseph-Scollard Hall Bears defeated the Chippewa Raiders 4-2 at Memorial Gardens on Wednesday night.

Mat Pepin and Sebastien Tremblay scored the other Bears goals.

Bears head coach John Wilson felt his club picked up the pace in the final frame.

"I'm happy with the result but the best thing is the kids came out really hard in the third period and that was our goal," said Wilson after the win.

"In between the second and third we said we've got to come out and work a lot harder in the third and that's what we did we worked hard in the third."

Matt Caruso and Nik Priebe replied for the Raiders.

In the other NDA hockey game Wednesday night the West Ferris Trojans edged the Widdifield Wildcats 2-1 in a very physical late night affair.

Lucas Punkari will have the game story from that contest Thursday morning...
