Bears heading to NDA Sr. Boys Soccer finals

The St. Joseph-Scollard Hall Bears handed the West Ferris Trojans their first loss of the season in the most important game of the year, as the Bears defeated the Trojans 3-2 in a shootout in the NDA Sr.
The St. Joseph-Scollard Hall Bears handed the West Ferris Trojans their first loss of the season in the most important game of the year, as the Bears defeated the Trojans 3-2 in a shootout in the NDA Sr. Boys Soccer semi-final which took place at West Ferris S.S. Tuesday night.

Chris Uttaro and Jeff Portugues scored for the Bears in regulation time while Sandy Burke and Scott Britton replied for the Trojans.

The semi-final went to a shootout which was dominated by the defending champions as Kevin Clayton, Jeff Portugues and Mike Portugues scored for the Bears while only one Trojan shooter, Doug McCrae, beat Bears netminder Tom Bak in their four opportunities.

Barons Move on

The Algonquin Barons are heading to the NDA Sr. Boys soccer final after edging the Franco-Cite Patriotes 3-2 on Tuesday night in Sturgeon Falls. Steve Paquette, Pat Lavigne and Mathieu St. Louis scored for the Barons in their semi-final victory.
