Justin Digiglio reaches the sidelines after one of his many big rushes on the day.

Running back Justin Digiglio scored four rushing touchdowns in a convincing 42-8 victory for the Scollard Bears in semi final action Saturday afternoon at Cundari field.

Fullback Luke Damore also contributed to the Bears solid running game, eating up crucial yards while bruising the Wildcats defensive line.

“Luke was definitely the main part of this game; if he didn’t have his game on today, I don’t think we could have took it home like we did,” said the shifty Digiglio.

Bears head coach John Whittet agreed that Damore’s performance was the key to Digiglio success Saturday.

“Justin is a great running back but he has a great fullback in front of him. Luke smashes, smashes, and smashes which creates all kinds of holes for his running back,” said Whittet.

Bears quarterback Kevin Clayton rounded out the offensive assault by tossing majors in the second and fourth quarter.

Not wanting to be out done by the offense, the Bears defense held up the fort by only allowing one TD on the games final play.

“They were very opportunistic, we bent but didn’t break. I think they caused four turnovers for us and I was very pleased in how they played,” said Whittet.

The Bears will look to cap off a successful season next week when they face the West Ferris Trojans for the NDA Senior Boys Championship.

In the teams previous meeting the Bears erased a first half deficit en route to a 33-24 victory.
