In NDA junior boys soccer action, the wet weather was a big factor in the match between the West Ferris Secondary School Trojans and the St. Joseph-Scollard Hall Bears held at the Trojan Alumni Complex on Wednesday. Both teams entered the game with identical 2-0-0 records, and this back and forth game proved to be all it was anticipated to be.

The Trojans got on the board first with a goal from Trent Robinson, but the Bears responded twice with goals from Anthony Nucara and Joe Poeta. Midway through the first half, the Trojans took command with a natural hat trick of markers from Scott Pawson to lead 4-2 going into the second half. The game remained this way until late in the second half when the Bears were awarded a penalty shot, and Nucara brought the Bears within one. With the rain coming down, the wind gusting, the Bears continued their charge, and tied the game on a scramble which Poeta put by the Trojans goalkeeper, Spencer Brear. With time ticking down, Brear came up with a huge save pushing a strike just over the bar to preserve the 4-4 tie and keep both teams unbeaten after three games.

The Bears will now face the Widdifield Wildcats at home on Monday, May 12th, while the Trojans are home to the Algonquin Barons that same evening. Both games start at 4:15 p.m.
