Tis the season to be jolly!’ Yes, it is that time of year again, Christmas trees are up, households are decorated with the vibrant holiday colors of red and evergreen, and the snow is here. Despite poor road conditions and working outside at this point in the year, one cannot really complain about having a beautiful, white Christmas.

Of course it should be expected in the great city of North Bay. I for one have enjoyed this season and all the snow and ice that comes with it. A fellow Trapper and friend of mine from Florida would say the exact same thing.
Granted Cory Sellers is used to surfing this time of the year and that is exactly what he plans on doing when he goes back home for Christmas. Till then he wishes to make the most out of his time up here in North Bay where there's an obvious abundance of snow. He along with many Trappers have been anticipating the moment when the outdoor rinks (ODR) would open up, so that we could spend countless hours there over the winter. Sellers also can’t seem to stop talking about tobogganing and making quinsy’s.

A quinsy, for those of you who don’t know, is much like an igloo in that it is a hut/fort of sorts, but instead of making it out of ice blocks, it is made by piling snow into a central location and digging out the insides of it afterwards.

I myself am extremely excited to head home considering I have been away since mid August. Not only do I plan to meet my family and friends back in Calgary, I also head up to Cudworth, Saskatchewan on the 24th to celebrate with all my relatives. Always seems to be the most fun time of the year, when the whole family is together. And thus I would like to wish everyone safe travels this holiday and a very Merry Christmas!!

GO! Trappers! GO!
