The Powassan Voodoos got some added firepower this morning with the addition of one of their top scorers from last season.

Kyle Moore was to be reassigned to the affiliated Powassan Voodoos of the Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League.

Moore, a fifth-round pick in the 2014 OHL Priority Selection, has played 16 games this season without registering a point.

He played three games with the Battalion last season without a point but had 25 goals and 36 assists for 61 points in 47 games with the Voodoos last year and finished right behind current Battalion forward Steven Harland who led the NOJHL in scoring last season.

“In Kyle’s case, I think that’ll be good for him to get more ice time. I think he’s maybe lost his confidence a bit and can get going," said Stan Butler to the North Bay media on Wednesday.

Voodoos General Manager Chris Dawson says Moore will help fill the offensive void left when Harland got the call up to the Battalion in early November.

"Kyle Moore is a skilled forward who will eat up big minutes in our top 6," he said.

"He scored 25 times as a 16-year-old and we hope he can be even better with us as we continue to try and develop him for the next level.  We also hope he can be a key contributor in our goal to win an NOJHL championship."

Moore is expected to be in the Voodoos lineup on Saturday night when they travel to Noelvillle to face the French River Rapids.
