Barons punch ticket to semi's

Jean Benoit scored three touchdowns to lead the Algonquin Barons to a 44-6 NDA Senior Football quarter-final victory over the Chippewa Raiders. Andrew St-George added a pair of majors.

Jean Benoit scored three touchdowns to lead the Algonquin Barons to a 44-6 NDA Senior Football quarter-final victory over the Chippewa Raiders.

Andrew St-George added a pair of majors.

David North and Marc Gareau also had one touchdown each in the romp over the Raiders whose only win this season came by default as part of the Trojans ineligible player issue.

Jacob Blais scored the lone touchdown for the Raiders.

The Barons will now face the Widdifield Wildcats in their semi-final on Saturday afteroon. Game time is 1:00 p.m.
