The Algonquin Barons senior girls basketball team continued its winning ways in defeating the E.S. Franco-Cité Patriotes 60-26 at the ESCA gym on Tuesday night.
The Algonquin Barons senior girls basketball team continued its winning ways in defeating the E.S. Franco-Cité Patriotes 60-26 at the ESCA gym on Tuesday night.

The Barons jumped out to a 19-4 first quarter lead by using their patented pressure defense and never looked back in winning their 8th straight league game.

Tanya Simard led the Barons with 18 points, while Mila Paris and Alisha Perron added 10 and 9 points each. Karine Shrum chipped in 8 points, while other scorers were Geneviève Dumas with 6, Robynn Duchesne and Daphne Reynolds with 4 each and Kimberly Gibson with 3.

For the Pats, speedy guard Jesse Bélanger scored 18, while France Louiseize and Brianne Perron each had 4.

Next up for the 1st place Barons are the West Ferris Trojans on Thursday night, while Franco-Cité meet up with SJSH Bears next Tuesday.
