Barons overwhelm Braves

The ESC Algonquin Barons Senior Girls Basketball team upped their record to 3-0 with a convincing 43-8 win over the Northern Braves Tuesday night at the Algonquin gymnasium.
The ESC Algonquin Barons Senior Girls Basketball team upped their record to 3-0 with a convincing 43-8 win over the Northern Braves Tuesday night at the Algonquin gymnasium.

The Barons used a balanced attack on offense and their patented stiffling defense to power there way to victory. Nadine Perron led all scorers with 10 points, Sarah Trottier and Janelle Martin each chipped in with 6 and Célyne Bégin added 5. For the Braves Stéphanie Piquette scored 4 points and Breana Willard and Caitlyn Davison each had 2.

In the junior game, Algonquin cruised to a 52-13 win. Camille Courville led the Barons offensively with 17 points, while Alex Parker and Émilie Goulet each added 8.

The Barons square off against their francophone rivals from Franco-Cité on Thursday. The Senior game tips off at 4:30pm, while the junior game is scheduled for a 6:00pm start.
