Barons go 2-0 in OFSAA hockey

The Algonquin Barons led the Holy Cross Hurricanes from Peterborough 4-2 after two periods and hung on for a 6-5 victory in their second game in the OFSAA Hockey "AA" Championships taking place in Belle River, Ontario.

Mitchell Sullivan scored 4 goals, Kevin Gareau added a pair and Nathan Hewitt chipped in 4 assists.

The win moves the Barons to a perfect 2-0 record after dumping Holy Trinity from Kanata 2-1 in their opener Wednesday afternoon.

The NDA and NOSSA champs look to improve on their perfect record Thursday night as they take on the Roland Michener Rebels from South Porcupine. Game time is 6:30 p.m.
