Barons bomb Braves in senior girls hoops

The École Secondaire Catholique Algonquin Barons senior girls basketball team used a balanced scoring attack combined with a strong defensive game to wipe out the Northern S.S. Braves 79-12 on Tuesday night at the ESCA gym.
The École Secondaire Catholique Algonquin Barons senior girls basketball team used a balanced scoring attack combined with a strong defensive game to wipe out the Northern S.S. Braves 79-12 on Tuesday night at the ESCA gym.

Tanya Simard led all scorers with 17 points, while Geneviève Dumas added 15 points and Mila Paris poured in 11, as the Barons upped their record to 5-0. Also scoring for the Barons were Daphne Reynolds and Catherine Sénécal 8 each, Kimberly Gibson 6, Alisha Perron 3, Samantha Boyle, Stéphanie Poirier and Karine Shrum 2 each.

Shally Beaucage, Angela McLeod and Sylvie Larocque each scored 4 points in a losing cause for the Braves.
