The Barons used a solid ground attack led by tailback Hugo Tessier to defeat the Franco-Cité Patriotes 46-0 Friday afternoon in NDA junior football action.
The Barons used a solid ground attack led by tailback Hugo Tessier to defeat the Franco-Cité Patriotes 46-0 Friday afternoon in NDA junior football action. Tessier led the way with 2 touchdowns, while fullback Devin McGirr and slotbacks Josh O’Donnell, Mat Lavigne, and Tyler Miller each chipped in with a major. Kicker Yannick Lemay added 4 converts.

Defensively, the Barons shut out their 3rd opponent of the year thanks to solid efforts by cornerback Joël Landry, linebacker Jonathan Wilkinson, and defensive tackle Jesse Guillemette. In addition, defensive back Richard Sévigny returned an interception for a touchdown while safety James Murray also contributed with a pick.

With the win, the Barons move to 4-1, while the Patriotes fall to 0-5. The Barons will now face the undefeated SJSH Bears next Friday, October 27th in a battle for first place.

The Patriotes are back in action Tuesday, October
24th as they travel to West Ferris to face the Trojans.
