It was a feeling of deja-vu that the North Bay Trappers did not want to feel.

Last Thursday, the Trappers allowed three first period goals to the Sudbury Nickel Capital Wolves in a 4-1 loss in the deciding game of the Great North Midget League final at Memorial Gardens ice.

Fast forward six days and the same two teams were meeting at the Central Regional Midget AAA championships, and again, the Wolves open up a 3-0 lead and cruised to a 6-1 win over the Trappers.

The loss drops the Trappers to 1-2 and fifth in the six team tournament being held in Sudbury this week.

It was a frustrating game for the Trappers who were assessed 16 penalties including four double minors.

The calls led to five power play markers for the Nickel Capital Wolves.

Hunter Chiblow, Tommy Vlahos and PJ Nykilchuk paced the Wolves in the first period to stake the Great North Midget League champs to the 3-0 lead.

Jake Gravelle got the Trappers on the board in the late stages of the first period.

Mathieu Dokis-Dupuis and Alex Rodrigue had power play goals in the middle frame to make it 5-1 after two periods.

Goalie Joel Rainville, who was pulled in game five of the GNML final against the Wolves, replaced Drew Joyal after the second period.

Dokis-Dupuis netted his second power play marker of the game at 5:25 of the third period to complete the scoring.

After that it was penalty, after penalty for both teams before the final buzzer sounded as the officials handed out nine penalties in the third period alone and seven of those were against the Trappers.

The Trappers will look to get back on track Thursday afternoon when they face the 2-0-1 Mississauga Rebels.   Puck drop is set for noon at Countryside arena in Sudbury.
