Mississauga - The West Ferris North Bay Toyota Thunder Minor Bantam "AA" reeled off five straight wins to capture the Mississauga North Stars Pre Christmas Classic this past weekend.

Round robin game scores were a 4-1 victory over Belle River, 3-1 over the host Mississauga North Stars, and 7-0 over Ted Reeve with Dustin Hummel recording the shutout.

The semifinal game was another rematch with the North Stars, and the locals responded with a disciplined but physical 7-1 pounding.

In the championship game against the York Toros the locals jumped out to a 3-0 lead before the Toros notched a pair to make it 3-2. Solid goaltending kept the Toros in this game with the locals outshooting York by a 37-13 count. Final score was 4-2. The coaching staff was proud and pleased with the added physical presence the team has displayed along with skill, grit and determination.

This marks the Thunders' third straight tournament final
in three tries this season. They now look forward to the
Sudbury Silver Stick in December.

Tournament goalscorers were Tait Seguin (5), Darren Palmer (4), Josh Storie (3), Mike Mason (3), Brad Cauchy (2), Dylan Staples (2),Zach Deschenes (2), Derek Dinezza (1), Ryley Valade (1), Garrett Hatherley (1), and Gabriel Rancourt (1).

Other team members include Raymond Major, Nick MacMillan,
Addison Robidas and Ricky Guay.
