Alouettes hand out a Royal beating

The Nipissing Alouettes took an edge in the season series against their regional rival, the Temiscaming Royals, in an 8-2 win on Friday night at the Sturgeon Falls Arena.
The Nipissing Alouettes took an edge in the season series against their regional rival, the Temiscaming Royals, in an 8-2 win on Friday night at the Sturgeon Falls Arena. Erik BĂ©langer, Kory Clermont, Kory Cashaback all scored twice while Jordan Presseault and Paul Traynor each scored their first goals as Alouettes. Presseault also added two helpers for the Als. Guillaume Brisebois and Cedric Boutin scored for the Royals. Brandon Blanche added two helpers.

Patrick Beaudry made 38 saves in the win, several of them of the spectacular fashion. Guillaume Piché took the loss for the Royals making 21 saves before being relieved late in the third period by Francis Bernard. The rivalry continues Saturday night as the Alouettes travel to Temiscaming for the back end of the home and home series. Game time is 8:00 p.m. at the Centre in Temiscaming.
