The West Ferrs Ringette Association Novice and Petite Rep teams struck gold in Niagara Falls over the weekend at the Niagara Falls 3rd Annual Ringette Tournament.

Fortunately, the games took place inside the Chippawa Willoughby Memorial Arena while a major March break blizzard took place outside.

The Novice C Ring Rockets won all three of their round robin games and made it to the championship where they concluded their final tournament of the year with a 7–1 gold medal victory over the Hamilton Heat. Inspired play from all the Rocket players proved too much for the Heat to handle, with special mention going out to the Rocket’s defensive corps for their strong play. Coaches Terry Ablett and Rob Carswell, and manager Angie Hill were very pleased with the consistent and unselfish teamwork by the Rocket centers and forwards that led to their golden moment; as well, special thanks go out to all the parents and grandparents, and especially team cheer leader Tiffany Hill, who attended the tournament and cheered the Ring Rockets on to victory.

Members of the Gold Medal winning Ring Rockets include:
Assistant Coach Rob Carswell, Coach Terry Ablett, Kristen Collins, Breanne Maille, Hannah Michauville, Hayley Lazarou, Megan Ablett, Manager Angie Hill, Hunter Carswell, Clayton Hill, Kennedy Thomson, Breanna Mirtl, Erin Ablett, Julianne Sevigny, and Matthew Daniher.
