Statistics From May 17th to May 24th, 2004

North Bay, Mattawa and Powassan OPP officers concluded Canada Road Safety Week that started on Monday May 17th and ran through the Victoria Day May Long Weekend (Monday May 24th, 2004).

Here are the North Bay OPP Cluster Traffic Statistics for the initiative:

# of Seatbelt Violations: 8
# of Impaired Drivers Charged: 1
# of Speeding Charges: 57
# of Hazardous Moving * Violations *: 6
# of Motor Vehicle Collisions: 20
# of Personal Injury Motor Vehicle Collisions: 5
# of persons injured as a result of a Collision: 5

Isolating the Victoria Day Weekend, Friday May 21 to Monday May 25th, 2004, here are the following statistics for the North Bay OPP Cluster:

# of Seatbelt Violations: 0
# of Impaired Drivers Charged: 0
# of Speeding Charges: 34
# of Hazardous Moving * Violations *: 3
# of Motor Vehicle Collisions: 9
# of Personal Injury Motor Vehicle Collisions: 3
# of persons injured as a result of a Collision: 3

Safety on the highways is everyone’s responsibility. Although this was a week long initiative, expect that officers will be out to enforce traffic laws all summer for your safety. It is imperative for all you to do your part to ensure that we all have a Safe and Secure Summer while traveling on our roads.
