BRAMPTON MAN IN HOSPITAL AFTER CLOTHING CAUGHT IN FARMING EQUIPMENT

Powassan OPP were called to Carway Farms located at 352 Proudfoot Road, South Himsworth Twsp shortly before 4 p.m. after a man’s clothing got caught in farming equipment sending him to hospital.

William McFadden, 25, of Brampton, Ont., was sent to North Bay General Hospital via ambulance upon police arrival. The police investigation revealed that McFadden was loading wood from a hydraulic dump trailer that was hooked up to a farm tractor.

McFadden’s clothing somehow got caught in the drive shaft between the tractor and the trailer causing serious injury to his right arm and neck.

This is not an industrial accident and foul play is not suspected.

The OPP would like to remind homeowners and operators of heavy farm equipment and/or machinery to use extra caution. Make sure you do not have loose clothing on; wear safety glasses; wear ear protection; and, wear a hard hat if required. Make sure you are trained to use your equipment and plan your movements around the machinery to avoid a tragedy.
