Missing Hunter Found

Cst. Rob Mondor and his dog, ‘Koby’ of the OPP North East Region K-9 unit, have successfully located 35 year-old Gilbert Woods of Colbourg, Ontario.

Woods was reported missing to the Powassan OPP at approximately 7:00 p.m., on Wednesday November 12th, 2003. Woods was hunting in the area of Little John Lake, Wilson Township southwest of Port Loring, Ontario. Members of the OPP Emergency Response Team (E.R.T.), OPP K-9 unit and the OPP Snowmobile, All-terrain vehicle & Vessel Enforcement Team (S.A.V.E.) were searching Wilson Township since last evening. Woods was located by Cst. Mondor and Koby at approximately 12:00 noon on Thursday November 13th, 2003. Woods is reported as being cold and tired but did not sustain any injuries. Police are keeping him warm and transporting him out of the hunting area.
