KNOW BEFORE YOU GO
That ice may not be safe!

(North Bay, On):
At this time of year, warm temperatures are causing ice on lakes or rivers to weaken or rot. Sledding can still be fun if you avoid ice surfaces. The North Bay OPP want remind you to check with your local Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Clubs (OFSC) to see if the trails are open.

Ice conditions can change in a period of several hours. If you must cross ice, ask first, then stay on packed or marked OFSC trails. Avoid slushy ice; ice on or near moving water, or ice that has thawed and refrozen.

Avoid a tragedy; be sled smart and check your local ice conditions to minimize your risk.

For up-to-date information on your local OFSC trails, visit their web site at: www.ofsc.on.ca and click on “Trails”.
