IMPAIRED CHARGES RESULT FROM SINGLE VEHICLE COLLISION

North Bay OPP responded to a personal injury single motor vehicle collision on the Lake Nosbonsing Road near Jim Bows Archery, East Ferris Township at approximately 6:50 p.m. on Wednesday April 21st, 2004.

Sixty-four-year-old Gerald Bessette of Callander, Ontario was the lone occupant of a 2001 Toyota Van west bound on Lake Nosbonsing Road, when he entered a ditch on the north side of the roadway. Bessette’s van ended up just over 12 meters in the bush when the vehicle came to rest. Bessette was transported to North Bay General Hospital via ambulance with minor injuries. Police discovered that alcohol was involved in this collision.

Police arrested and charged Bessette with Care or Control of a Motor Vehicle While Impaired and Drive Motor Vehicle with over 80 mgs. He is to appear in court at the Ontario Court of Justice at 360 Plouffe Sreet, North Bay, Ontario on Tuesday July 6th, 2004.
