(Elliot Lake, Ontario) – The Ontario Provincial Police is currently investigating the death of a 62-year-old Elliot Lake man whose body was discovered late yesterday afternoon in his home.

Fernand Gilles Gagnon of 19 St. Laurent Place was found dead after members of the East Algoma Elliot Lake OPP responded to a request from a family member to check on his well being. He had not been seen or heard from since Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2004.

The death is being treated as suspicious and foul play has not been ruled out. A post mortem has been scheduled for 3 p.m. today in Sault Ste. Marie.

The investigation is continuing by members of the East Algoma Elliot Lake OPP, under the direction of A/Detective Inspector Tim Millar, OPP Criminal Investigation Branch.
