CHRISTMAS AND WEEKEND R.I.D.E. CHECKS
Great Compliance – Only Two 12 Hour Suspensions Issued

From Dec. 24 to the early hours of Mon. Dec. 29, 2003 officers from North Bay, Mattawa, and Powassan Detachments along with the North East Region Traffic and Marine Unit conducted Festive R.I.D.E. in the area.

Over this period, 2,436 vehicles were stopped.
OPP officers issued two 12-hour suspensions. There were eight collisions throughout the area; three of those were personal injury collisions in which three people were injured.

Stats for week four of the Festive R.I.D.E. are forthcoming as this initiative continues into the New Year.
