Final Stats

(North Bay, Ontario)
North Bay, Mattawa, and Powassan OPP officers concluded this year’s Spring Seat Belt Initiative on Sunday April 25th, 2004.

Along with the rest of the Province, they targeted the use of seat belts and appropriate childcare seats, booster seat or seat belt (depending on the Child’s physical size and development).

The initiative started Saturday April 17th, 2004. The North Bay OPP cluster checked 3,988 vehicles and of that, 25 child seats were checked. Officers were pleased to see that motorists have been compliant with child seats; however, police still charged 110 people with regular seatbelt violations.

Even though the initiative is over, the North Bay Cluster urge motorists to continue to take the time to properly buckle up their children and themselves.

Be safe and secure, and buckle up right.
