MAN ASSAULTED BY BASEBALL BAT AT HIS HOME

Mattawa OPP were called shortly after noon Thursday after a Papineau-Cameron resident was slightly injured by an unknown assailant brandishing a baseball bat at his residence located at 6254 Highway 17, Papineau-Cameron, just west of Mattawa.

Armand Robitaille, 59, was approached at his residence by male who eventually produced a baseball bat and started hitting him in the legs. The male fled in a late 90’s silver Chev Impala. Police determined that a green Ford Ranger pick-up truck may have also been involved in this assault.

Both vehicles fled westbound on Highway 17. Robitaille was treated and released with minor injuries from the Mattawa General Hospital.

Police are looking for a male in his mid to late 30s, five foot nine to five foot ten inches tall, with dirty blonde hair.
