MISSISSAUGA, Ont. — Police west of Toronto have charged a man and a woman in a double homicide that took place in 2019.

Peel Regional Police say they began their investigation on Dec. 28 of that year when they were called to a home in Mississauga, Ont., and found two men with stab wounds outside the building.

They say 44-year-old Maxwell Charles and 29-year-old Jamal Holder later died of their injuries.

Police say they arrested a 22-year-old man from Dundalk, Ont., on Thursday and charged him with two counts of second-degree murder in the case.

The next day, they say they charged a 45-year-old Dundalk woman with two counts of accessory to murder after the fact.

Police are continuing to encourage anyone with information on the case to come forward.
