In Loving Memory of Evelyn Doris Zimmerman (Randall)

"If love could have saved you, You would have lived forever."

Evelyn Doris Zimmerman, affectionately known as Susie, passed away on Saturday, October 7th, 2023, at North Bay Regional Health Centre. She fought a brief but valiant battle with ovarian cancer and subsequent strokes, peacefully surrounded by her immediate family. She was born in Hamilton, Ontario on June 3rd, 1949.

Susie resided in Temagami, Ontario, where she shared many years of love and companionship with her husband, David Zimmerman. Together, they created a home filled with warmth and cherished memories.

Beloved daughter of the late James Randall and Evelyn Randall, Susie leaves behind a legacy of love. She was a devoted mother to her children, Carrie Zimmerman, Amy Dowler (Quinton Dowler - Husband), and Eric Zimmerman (Kathy Zimmerman - Maessen). Her grandchildren, Gage Dowler, Elise Dowler, Lucy Zimmerman, and Molly Zimmerman were a source of immense pride and joy in her life.

Susie was a loving sister (in-law) to James Randall (predeceased), Beverley Bell (Bill Bell - predeceased), Elaine Mair (Richard Trudel), Vernon Randall (Linda Randall), Lorraine Krahn (Garry Krahn), Patsy Koebel, and Brian Randall. As the second oldest among her siblings, Susie held a special place in their hearts. She also had numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and family friends/neighbours who considered her part of their extended family.

Known for her kind heart and friendly demeanour, Susie was a pillar of love and support to those around her. She genuinely enjoyed helping others and always had an abundance of stories to share. Her adventurous spirit led her to embrace outdoor activities such as ski-dooing, boating, and spending time at her beloved camp. Gardening brought her solace, and she tirelessly cheered at her children's sporting events. Above all, Susie cherished quality time spent with family and friends, often enjoying her husband's homemade wine.

Susie took immense pride in her grandchildren, and their presence brightened her days. Her absence will be deeply felt by all who knew and loved her.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 28th, 2023, at 11:30 AM at St. Elizabeth's Catholic Church in Temagami, Ontario (P0H 2H0). Following the service, a luncheon will be held in the church basement, providing an opportunity for remembrance, and sharing fond memories.

In honour of Susie's memory, the family kindly requests that, instead of flowers, donations be made to Ovarian Cancer Canada through the following link: https://ovariancanada.org. Your contribution will help support vital research and resources for those affected by this illness.

Though our hearts ache from her departure, we find solace in knowing that Susie's love will forever remain in our hearts.
