Fran Young died peacefully on Friday, September 19, 2008 at Eastholme, Powassan. He was in his 91st year. Fran was the beloved husband for 68 years of Maybelle (Keall) Young of Powassan. He was the very much loved father of the late Patricia Cotnam (Pat of Montreal), Ron Young of Guelph, Wayne Young (Joanne) of Stratford, Charlene O'Hallarn (Bob) of Richmond Hill, Eric Young (Laura) of Powassan, and Judy Gagnon (Claude) of Powassan. Grandpa will be forever remembered by 16 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. Fran was the dear brother of the late Ernie Young (Clara of Powassan), the late Leona Cleroux (Henry, deceased), the late Ethel Grasser (George, deceased), Emil Young (Mary) of Trout Creek, and Conrad Young (Betty) of Powassan. The Young family will receive visitors at the PAUL FUNERAL HOME, Powassan on Sunday, September 21, 2008 from 7:00 to 9:00 pm and Monday, September 22 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm. Prayers will be held Monday at 8:45 pm. A Powassan Lions Club tribute service will be held Sunday at 7:00 pm. A Royal Canadian Legion Br. #453 tribute service will be held Monday at 7:00. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, September 23 at 11:00 am at St. Joseph's Church, Powassan. Interment will take place at Powassan Union Cemetery. If desired, donations in Fran's memory to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, Eastholme Residents Activities Fund or the Multiple Sclerosis Society would be appreciated.
